Get Ready With Me

Recently I have started to do 'Get Ready With Me' types of videos on my Snapchat. I have gotten great feedback from them so I decided to try and translate the Snapchats into a blogpost.
The other evening I went to a friend's house and had a lovely chilled and laid back night. I decided to get Darragh to take photos while I got ready and I'm going to share them with you today.

I always get ready at my dressing table (which I am currently painting white, so you see a lot more of it in the near future) as there is good lighting and it is where I store all my beauty products. Although there is good lighting for me when I doing my makeup, the lighting doesn't translate well on camera because I am sitting right next to a window, so excuse the dark photos!

Maybelline Baby Skin Primer
L'oreal Nude Magique Cushion Foundation - Porcelain
Urban Decay Naked Concealer - Fair/Neutral
Kiko Radiant Fusion Baked Powder - 01
Sleek Face Form - Fair
Rimmel Lasting Finish Blush - 020 Pink Rose
Nyx Tame & Frame Tinted Brow Pomade - Chocolate
Kiko Long Lasting Eyeshadow Stick - 28 & 06
Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner - Forest Brown
Covergirl Clump Crusher Waterproof Mascara - Brown/Black
Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain - 05 Infinite Rose
Nyx Matte Finish Setting Spray
To start everything off I primed my face and then applied some foundation onto my face, blending it out with a dense brush. After the foundation was fully blended, I added concealer under my eyes and on any spots I had, again making sure to blend it out well. To set everything in place I used a luminous powder to give a dewy look to the skin.

Using the contour shade from a Sleek face palette I warmed up the perimeter of my face and used it to add some shadow to the hollows of my cheeks. Using a soft pink blush from Rimmel I put this on the apples of my cheeks and blended upwards towards my temples. Going back to the Sleek palette I used the gorgeous soft highlight on my cheekbones, down the bridge of my nose, and in my cupid's bow.
Onto brows, which is the thing I always struggle with and spend the most time on! I used a double sided angled brush with a spoolie to shape and define my brows, with the help of a brow pomade.
Because it is quite humid in the summer I prefer to use cream shadows so I used two eyeshadow sticks, one a champagne shade and the other a bronze warm toned shade. I began by putting the shimmery champagne all over my lid and in the inner corner. I added the darker colour into my crease and outer corner and made sure to blend everything so there were no harsh lines. I also added both shades to my lower lash line, the lighter one on the inside and the darker one on the outer edge.
I then did a thin line of liquid liner to my lash line and applied two coats of mascara after curling my lashes. To finish everything off, I used a cream lip stain to add some colour to my lips and set everything in place with a setting spray.
And we're done! A natural neutral look that is perfect for any casual summer outing.

  1. Such a pretty look! I've wanted to get into cream products- shadows, blushers, etc- but I always shy away from them! Such a scary concept haha. Any cream product recommendations (besides these shadow sticks of course)?

    1. Thank you gal! Yah I was so scared at the start too but I promise they're not as scary as you think! The only cream products I use are cream eyeshadows because they are a dream to blend and smudge on the eyes. Maybelline Colour Tattoos are incredible and Max Factor do Excess Shimmer eyeshadows that are incredible (not sure if you get them in Canada). Just remember never to put cream on top powder and if you want them to last set them with powder,

    1. Thank you Rósín! Do, I highly recommend it. It's very easy to use and you can make your brows natural or strong with it, its very versatile. You can order it on Boots.ie if you can't find any in stock in places near you,
