The Houndstooth Scarf

Hey guys! Today I'm going to share an outfit with ye. Because college is either freezing or roasting I love to layer and top everything off with a blanket scarf. My most recently purchased one is this houndstooth scarf.

Blanket scarves are great because they first of all keep you warm and add so much to an outfit. They can also be used as a blanket, pillow or if you're feeling wild you can make a little pillow and blanket all in one. Can you tell I'm an expert at napping!
I love this scarf because it is patterned which adds texture and interest to an outfit, but because it has a monochromatic pattern it makes it really easy to style.
Because this is a patterned scarf I wanted to keep the rest of outfit nice and simple. I went for some classic black jeans, a trench coat and some pointed toe boots. I mixed two patterns with my striped turtleneck jumper and the scarf. I adore the thin turtle neck type jumpers for layering.
I shot his outfit in one of my favourite places with one of my favourite people Sadhbhers.ie. Last week I brought her to Paul Street Car Park where you can see the whole of town. Of course we did an outfit shoot because what else would bloggers do?!

If you have read Sadhbh's blogpost about moving you would know that she's after moving to a city for college. She's a country mouse experiencing the city life and I feel like I'm the town mouse showing her around. I really wanted to bring her here to show her how gorgeous and peaceful a busy town can be if you find the right place. You probably won't understand what I just said if you didn't read Sadhbh's post, but you can read it here.
