UCC Beauty & Style Masterclass

On Wednesday night I attended the UCC Beauty & Style Masterclass and of course I had to bring my camera along and share the event with ye all.
The event itself was organised by Laura, Aishling and Cathy as part of their entrepreneurship project and their goal was to raise as much money for Penny Dinners and Unicef as possible. The gorgeous Fiona and Aoife Mc Namara were the guest speakers for the evening. Fiona is a makeup artist and Aoife is a blogger and runs 'That Indie Irish Blog'.
Fiona started everything off by doing a glitter eye makeup look that's perfect for evenings out. She gave so many great tips and tricks that were perfect if you're a makeup newbie. I came out of the event with such a long makeup wishlist!
She used the Dr Paw Paw balm and said it was a dupe for the Elizabeth Arden Eight Cream so I definitely need to try that out. Another product that I really want to try that Fiona used was the Crown Brushes Eyeshadow Palette. It looked so pigmented and looked so amazing on the eyes.
Fiona then added some of the Fuchsia glitter on the inner third of the lid and it looked so gorgeous on the model. To finish the look off she lined the lips with Mac Sour and topped it off with Mac's lipstick in Angel.
I definitely picked up some makeup tips as I'm definitely a more natural makeup lover so I can't wait to experiment a bit more and hopefully recreate this look for a night out.
There was then a quick hair tutorial from Fiona.  She said to curl your hair and leave it to set in pin curls while you're doing your makeup Fiona then used the Batiste Plumping Powder to tease the roots of the hair and create volume. A great tip that she shared was to spritz some sea salt spray into the curls to give it some texture to make the curls last longer.
Aoife was up next and as she adores wearing vintage clothes she shared some of her places to shop along with some pieces that she picked out from the shops.
These shops were Mercury Goes Retrograde, Miss Daisy Blue and The Edge Vintage in Limerick. I definitely want to do some vintage shopping an see what gems I find after all the gorgeous stuff Aoife showed us.
Key pieces that Aoife thought everyone should have in there wardrobe, especially for the upcoming seasonal: a white top, knee high black boots, an oversized wooly jumper and some leopard print.
As a blogger one thing that really stood out to me was Aoife's answer to one question she was asked. The question was how do you manage college, work and blogging all at the same time, and she said passion. And it's so incredibly true, if you're not passionate about what you're doing you won't want to do it and you won't be willing to do the work. It reminded me how much I love what I do and why I'm willing to do it, and thats because I'm passionate about it.
To end the evening there was a raffle with some amazing prizes and then we all got a cupcake from The Cupcake Cottage and they were incredible! I really enjoyed the night and I think the girls did a fab job organising it.
My outfit for the event:
Top - Bershka
Pants - Zara
Jacket - H&M
Shoes - Penneys
Bag - New Look
Even though I plan posts ahead of time, especially when it comes to having lots of college stuff, exams to do, and work at the weekend, but when it comes to my blog I always want to keep things current and share what's going on in my life at that moment. So I hoped you enjoyed seeing some of what I got up to this week,

  1. Nice post! It looked like you had an amazing time. I have Dr. Paw Paw and it is definitely a dupe for Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream and it also smells better.

    1. Thanks gal, I did indeed. Oh I definitely have to pick it up now! Ailbhe x
